Description & Itinerary

Pay only for what you enjoy!

Our guided tours aim to be a unique and personal experience, supported on our expertise: we suggest an itinerary, one or two restaurants to lunch, and the most iconic monuments and attractions to visit. But, we want you to feel free to choose your favourite restaurant, your preferred monuments! We will adapt the itinerary, whenever possible, to meet your wishes.

That is why our price does not include lunch, or the tickets to visit monuments and attractions.

Coimbra itinerary:

  • University of Coimbra and Joanine Library: the oldest university in Portugal and one of the oldest in Europe, which over time has shaped its image to become “the city of students”.  Placed in the UNESCO World Heritage sites, that also includes Rua da Sofia and the upper part of the city.
  • New and Old Cathedrals:  Visit to the Sé Nova or the Cathedral of the Holy name of Jesus is the current bishopric seat of the city of Coimbra. The Sé Velha (Old Cathedral), on whose steps the monumental serenade takes place in which students dressed in black capes sing the Coimbra Fadowith heartfelt emotion.
  • Monastery of Santa Cruz: which houses the tomb of the first King of Portugal, Afonso Henriques.
  • Jewish and Muslim Quarters: The oldest Jewish quarter was situated close to Santa Cruz, on the steep slopes of Corpus Christi (Corpo de Deus). The Muslim quarter was situated in front of the Monastery. We had a Christian Coimbra, a Jewish Coimbra and an Arab one, which were disposed like vertices of an ecumenical triangle of cultural miscegenation.
  • Convent of Santa Clara-a-Velha: on the other bank, the Monastery of Santa Clara-a-Velha, recovered and rescued from the waters of the river that invaded it over the centuries.
  •

Aveiro itinerary:

Aveiro Train Station: located in the city centre it is known for its facade decorated with polychrome tiles depicting railway scenes, natural and traditional activities.

  • Art Nouveau walking route:Aveiro has a number of buildings in art nouveau style that are worth seeing.
  • Fish Market: a traditional market which houses some of the best seafood restaurants in Aveiro. Nearby you will find numerous restaurants and a wide range of shops and bars.
  • Moliceiro boat ride on the Ria de Aveiro: even if sometimes inappropriately compared with Venice, a boat ride along the 4 channels of Ria de Aveiro it is worth.

Optional: (13€/pax). The duration is about 45 minutes and allows you to know the main attractions and monuments.

  • Costa Nova Beach: known for its brilliant striped “sheds”.Built by fishermen for shelter or storage of fishing gear, these barns, restored, are now pleasant holiday homes.
  • Barra Beach: With its imposing lighthouse, one of the highest in Europe. Awarded by the Blue Flag since 1989 and the Flag “Accessible Beach, Beach for All” since 2002, the most striking features of Barra Beach are its landscape.
  • Return to Porto.
